About the Role
The purpose of the apprenticeships are to assist the Metals Studio with commissioned projects and classes, to serve as an ambassador of the Metal Museum and the metalworking community, and to advance design, fabrication, and business skills.
The Metal Museum offers artist internships in blacksmith, foundry work and repair/restoration of fine metal objects and sculptures. These positions offer artists invaluable experiential learning that is meant to expand their professional and practical skills. We are specifically seeking a Fine Metals Intern to join our Repair and Restoration Department under the guidance of Kevin Burge during the Summer 2025 internship period. Smithy & Foundry interns will be considered for Fall 2025.
