Hi everyone, I'm a SIBling & I have a background in welding & am passionate about metal. I'm an amateur smith who prefers working with steel & copper, with a tendency for my work to have an organic feel. I'm fascinated by nature & the beautiful forms that she creates. I am slowly learning the craft & though I may not have much knowledge, my door is always open for any who wish to stop by or for those who would like to stop a while.

I am an amateur smith, in the sense of one who practices the craft for love rather than for money. I welcome anyone into my shop who is interested in learning what little of the craft I am qualified to teach, especially those who do not feel welcome or safe elsewhere.

Nicholas Kimball

He/him or whatever

I'm not associated with any guilds, groups, or events, but I certainly would like to be available to people in the area and help when and where I can. In my work I focus primarily in historical restoration and preservation. Much of my work is done with hand tools with simple finishes.

Red Metal Forge

Waynesville, NC

Rachel E David

she/her

My work focuses on social and environmental justice, community, and communication. In its production I consider the many layers of colonization, restraints and expectations across bodies and landscapes. The work of furniture is by nature interactive, considerate, comforting and durable. I teach classes at various schools around the country, but most of my work is done at my shop in North Carolina. My space is always welcome to those who need it. Please contact me for more information about my shop and how it might be of use to you.
